Trade and transport studies

Studies are needed while drafting new transport policies, as support for business decisions and initiating infrastructure investments, accessing funds or restructuring portfolios.

RG-TTF services broadly include analysis of trade flows by origin-destination and commodity groups, trade forecasts, analysis of transport markets and door-to-door transport chains.

The trade analysis and forecasts are important for the infrastructure owners, as transport generally follows the trade and the economic development of the regions involved. The future transport demand is therefore estimated based on the trade volumes, likely to use the transport links.

The door-to-door transport chains, in particular intermodal transport use a variety of transport modes and logistic services. A multitude of actors are involved along the chain e.g. users, transport service providers (rail, sea, road, air), freight forwarders, infrastructure managers, other related service providers and transport regulators.
